How this timeline is built

Every schedule here works backward from your ceremony, the one time of day that can’t move. Photographers plan on guests seated 30 minutes before the processional, hair and makeup running 45–60 minutes per person (overlapping between artists), and a buffer before the ceremony when the couple stays out of sight. The reception follows the flow most planners and DJs use: entrance, first dance while everyone’s attention is up, dinner, toasts with dessert, parent dances as the bridge into open dancing, and cake cutting about an hour before the end as the unofficial “the bus is leaving soon” signal.

Timeline rules the pros swear by

• Pad everything by 15 minutes. Hair and makeup runs late at roughly every wedding ever held. Our schedule builds the buffer in — protect it.
• Do a first look if photos matter to you. Without one, all couple, family and wedding-party photos compress into cocktail hour — that’s 60 minutes for 90 minutes of photos.
• Feed the vendors when you eat. Photographers shoot 10-hour days; a fed photographer at your table’s pace never misses the toasts.
• Golden hour is non-negotiable for great portraits. Enter your sunset time above and we’ll slot a 20-minute sneak-out — the best photos of the day happen in that light.
• Last dance ≠ send-off. End the dance floor on a high note with everyone in a circle, then walk out to the send-off. Lingering endings deflate.

Share the final version with your photographer, DJ, caterer and coordinator two weeks out — then let the coordinator own the clock on the day.
